As we grow beyond our youth
Reflecting on our past
We find our younger self
Leaving us aghast
Then the real pain starts
And our soul begins to hurt
The mending of our mind
Is a rending of the heart
Thus we redeem ourselves
For a future epitaph
The summing of our life
Told by its better half
Lest the past should intrude
Like a breeze upon the embers
Illuminating secrets
We’d rather not remember
Your details are so emotive! You captured the feeling of reflection and again so well!
Thank you! I sometimes get lucky. 🙂
